The Multi Phase Extraction plant up and running at the Assemini site
In the Is Campus area at Assemini, the in situ Multi Phase Extraction (MPE) remediation plant is now up in a full-scale configuration, therefore operating on the contaminated area undergoing treatment, with activities taking place on a rotational basis. The MPE technology enables to simultaneously extract contaminants both in the liquid phase, through a submerged pump, and in the gaseous phase, through a vacuum pump, thereby allowing groundwater, unsaturated layer and soil capillary fringe remediation.
The MPE start-up is a further step forward in the remediation and recovery programme for the area included within the Sulcis-Iglesiente-Guspinese Site of National Priority.
